What a late afternoon at the Kenny. The visit of high-flying Liverpool and a record crowd of over 11,000 roaring on the mighty Hatters.
The Luton goal was one of the fastest counter attacking goals we’ve ever seen at the Kenny. The ball is headed against Ross from a Liverpool corner by the big Dutchman. Ross storms clear and accelerates towards halfway. A cheeky look around, and a weighted piece of perfection out to Kabore. Kabore one touch, a few more yards, then an even peachier centre to the on-rushing Chong, who ignores the frightening sight of Allison launching himself at him to dink the ball into the centre of the net.
This Premier League Luton side is getting better and better. We saw Kaminski – already having an outstanding season – deservedly collect the man of the match award with some stunning saves. Ross Barkley was a colossus, running everywhere, leading the break to fashion our incredible goal, and bringing a calmness to possession with every touch. Kabore was superb. An inch-perfect ball for the opener.
A far easier challenge next as the Luton warriors and their 3,000 passionate travelling fans hit Old Trafford on Saturday for what could well be Ten Hag’s Last Stand.
