Stoke City 1 Luton Town 1 – Alli Strike Secures Point

Alli superb strike

For quite a long time this looked as though this night was going wrong. Despite the most encouraging performance of Matt Bloomfield’s tenure, particularly away from home, a deflected free kick had seen Stoke ahead. Until Alli’s incredible finish from a tight angle secured a crucial point.

A hamstring injury to Alfie sees him join Elijah on the sidelines. Which meant a 16th minute introduction for Alli and he was the star of the show. Another assist from Jordan Clark which just shows his contribution to this side. And a word for the much criticised Josh Bowler who in the 10 minutes he was on the pitch didn’t give the ball away, put Luton in good positions, and it was from his release that the goal was eventually scored.

With other results it looks more likely than ever Luton need 3 wins from the last 5 minimum to even give themselves a chance of staying up.
